Tomato Sauce II
1 qt tomatoes
1 slice onion
a few cloves
3 tbsp browned butter 3 tbsp flour
1 - Cook together for about 20 minutes 1 quart tomatoes, fresh or canned, 1 slice onion and a few cloves.
2 - Brown and cook until smooth 3 tablespoons flour in 3 tablespoons browned butter, stirring steadily.
3 - After putting the tomatoes with this, cook 3 minutes longer and add salt and pepper to taste.
4 - Strain, to remove the tomato seeds.
5 - If a thicker sauce is preferred, use more flour.
