1 - After removing outside leaves, cut the cabbage into quarters, taking out the tough core,
and place in cold water to soak for about 1/2 hour.
2 - After draining, cover with plenty of boiling water and let it boil 30 minutes or more, until it is
tender, adding salt when it is partly cooked; then drain again before serving
4 - Or the cabbage may be chopped and seasoned with butter, salt and pepper.
5 - If desired a little milk or cream may be added.
