6 middle-sized potatoes
1 - Take about 6 middle-sized potatoes and pare them.
2 - Then cut them up into thin slices.
3 - In the bottom of a baking dish spread an inch deep layer of potato, seasoned with salt and pepper,
sprinkled lightly with flour and dotted with bits of butter.
4 - Build up 1 or 2 more layers, then add enough milk to reach nearly to the top.
5 - Let them bake, covered, for about an hour; then uncover the dish to allow the top to brown
and cook 15 minutes longer, or until tender when pierced.
6 - Serve the potatoes in the baking dish.
