Tomato Jelly Salad
3 cps stewed tomatoes
1 stalk celery
1 slice onion
1/4 green pepper-pod
1 tsp sugar
1/2 box gelatin lettuce leaves
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 - Boil 3 cps stewed tomatoes with 1 stalk celery, 1 slice onion, 1 clove, 1 bayleaf,
1/4 green pepper-pod and 1 tsp sugar.
2 - After soaking 1/2 box gelatin in 1/2 cp cold water for a few minutes, pour it
into the boiling tomatoes.
3 - When the mixture has been strained, pour it into small cups or molds and let it
stand in a cool place overnight, or until it is firm.
4 - Each little mold should be served on lettuce leaves and have a tbsp of mayonnaise
on the top.
5 - Or the jelly may be molded in a single dish or pan, then cut into cubes and used to
garnish cold meats, or other salads.
