2 cps stale bread broken into pieces
1 qt milk
2 eggs, beaten light
1/2 cp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cp seeded raisins
1 - Take 2 cps stale bread, broken into pieces and soak in 1 qt milk.
2 - Let it heat to near the boiling point.
3 - Then take 2 eggs, beaten light and stir into them 1/2 cp sugar, 1/4 tsp salt and 1 tsp vanilla.
4 - Mix them well before adding to the bread and milk.
5 - Let the pudding cook in an earthenware dish set in a pan of water in a moderate oven about 45 minutes.
6 - 1/2 cp seeded raisins may be added before baking, ifm desired.
7 - The pudding may be served with jelly or with a pudding sauce.
