Cottage Pudding III
1/4 cp butter
2/3 cp sugar
2 1/2 cps flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
a little milk
a fruit sauce
1 - Cream 1.4 cp butter with 2/3 cp sugar added a little at a time; then 1 egg which has been thoroughly beaten.
2 - Take 2 1/2 cps flour to which hve been added 4 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt; mix these together and sift.
3 - Stir into the butter, sugar and egg, a little milk, then some of the sifted four mixture, alternating the two until
1 cp milk and all the flour have been used.
4 - After baking in a moderate oven 30 to 35 minutes, in a shallow buttered pan, serve hot with hard sauce or a fruit sauce.
