2 cps milk
2 tsp cornstarch
2 yolks of eggs
4 tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
bits of jelly
1 - Take 2 cps milk and let it scald inthe upper receptacle of a double boiler, stirring in 2 tsp cornstarch
that have been well mixed with a little cold milk.
2 - Let this cook 20 to 30 minutes in the double boiler.
3 - Beat slightly 2 yolks of eggs and beat in with them 4 tbsp sugar and a pinch of salt.
4 - Add this to the milk, stirring steadily; and do not let it boil.
5 - As soon as the egg is well blended with the thickened milk, remove from the fire.
6 - Add 1/2 tsp vanilla or any desired flavoring.
7 - Serve with whipped cream or bits of jelly.
8 - Variations may be made by substituting 1 cp strong coffee for 1 cp milk, or caramelizing 1/4 cp sugar
and adding it to 1 of the cps of scaled milk, then proceeding as above.
