1/4 cp sugar
2 cps scalded milk
To caramelize the sugar:
1 - Melt slowly in a pan 1/4 cp sugar, and let it continue cooking until it turns
dark brown but do not allow it to scorch.
2 - Then add 1/4 cp boiling water.
3 - Continue cooking slowly until the sugar forms a thick syrup.
4 - When the caramel flavor is ready, add it to 2 cps scalded milk; then proceed as
in the recipe for baked custard, using the caramel and milk for the liquid.
