Lemon Sauce II
1/2 cp sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
pich of salt
2 rbsp butter
2 tbsp lemon juice
a little grated lemon rind
crushed strawberries, raspberries or other fruit
1 - Take 1/2 cp sugar and 1 tbsp cornstarch and rub together, adding a pinch of salt.
2 - Let themboil in 1 cp boiling water until clear and thick, stirring steadily.
3 - Cook over hot water 20 minutes longer.
4 - Beat in 2 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp lemon juice with a little grated lemon rind.
5 - Nutmeg may be added; or crushed strawberries or raspberries or other fruit.
