1/3 cp butter
1 cp sugar
2 eggs, beaten slightly
1 1/2 cps flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla or other flavoring
1 - Cream together 1/3 cp butter and 1 cp sugar and add to them 2 eggs beaten slightly,
then beaten into the mixture
2 - Use 1 1/2 cps flour and 2 tsp baking powder, sifting them together; and add alternately
with this 1/2 cp milk.
3 - Stir in 1/2 tsp vanilla or other flavoring.
4 - Bake inn a moderate oven.
Variations may be made by adding to the batter raisins, nuts, coconut, or other spices.
Or an ounce of melted chocolate may be stirred in, or 1 or 2 tbsp of cocoa.
Instead of being baked in a loaf, the batter may be made into 3 layers to be used for layer cake
with any prefered filling and icing.
