3 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tbsp milk
4 tbsp butter
1 cp sugar
yols of 2 eggs
1 1/3 cps flour
2 tsp baking powder
a little salt
2/3 cp milk
whites of 2 eggs
1 -Cook together until smooth 3 squares unsweetened chocolate, 2 tbsp sugar and 1 1/2 tbsp milk.
2 - Then cream together 4 tbsp butter and 1 cp sugar, beating thoroughly.
3 - After the yolks of 2 eggs have been added, beat more.
4 - When the chocolate mixture has been stirred in, sift in 1 1/3 cps flour with 2 tsp baking powder
and a little salt, alternating with this pouring in 2/3 cp milk.
5 - Beat the whites of the eggs and fold them lightly into the batter; then pour into a greased pan
and let it bake 50 or 60 minutes in a moderate oven.
6 - Use chocolate or white icing as preferred.
