1/2 cp butter
1 1/2 cps sugar
beaten yolks of 4 eggs
2 cps flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
eggwhites, beaten until stiff
1 - Cream together 1/2 cp butter and 1 1/2 cps sugar, adding the beaten yolks of 4 eggs.
2 - With 2 cps flour mix 2 tsp baking powder and sift together.
3 - Stir into the first mixture alternately the flour and 3/4 cp milk;
flavor with 1 tsp vanilla extract and fold in the egg whites beaten until stiff,
4 - Pour into 3 well greased layer-cake pans and bake in a moderate oven.
5 - When the cakes are cold, put them together with any desired filling and cover the top with icing.
