1 cp sugar
4 tbsp shortening
3 cps flour
1 tsp cinnamon
a little salt
3 tsp baking powder
5/8 cp milk
1 - Beat 2 eggs, adding 1 cp sugar; put this with 4 tbsp shortening that has eben creamed, working the two together gradually
2 - Mix 3 cps flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, a little salt and 3 tsp baking powder, sift and add half the amount to the first mixture.
3 - Stir in 5/8 cp milk and the remaineder of the dry ingredients, producing a soft dough.
4 - When it is rolled on a floured board until it is about 1/2 inch thick, cut into 4 inch strips about 1/2 inch wide.
5 - After rolling in the hands, twist the ends together and fry in deep fat.
6 - Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
