Boston Brown Bread
1 cp sifted cornmeal
1 cp sifted graham flour
1 cp rye flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 tbsp soda
1/4 cp molasses
2 cps sour milk (or 1 3/4 cps sweet milk)
1 - Mix well together 1 cp each of corn meal, graham flour and rye flour with 1 tsp salt and 3/4 cp molasses
mixed with 2 cps sour milk (or 1 3/4 cps sweet milk).
2 - When all have been thoroughly beaten together, turn into mold which has been well greased inside, cover and all.
3 - Leave upper third of the mold empty.
4 - Fasten cover on securelym and steam the loaf for 3 hours, keeping hot water in steamer about halfway up
on the outside of the mold.
5 - The loaf may be dried inn the oven before serving.
