4 1/2 cps flour
4 tbs[ sugar
8 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
4 tbsp shortening
4 tsp cinnamon
nearly a cup of sugar
8 tbsp seeded raisins
4 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp butter
1 - Take 4 1/2 cps flour, 4 tbsp sugar, 8 tbsp baking powder, 2 tsp salt; mix together and sift
these ingredients before rubbing in lightly with the finger tips 4 tbsp shortening.
2 - Beat 2 eggs and mix them with 1 cp water; then add this moisture gradually to dry
mixture to produce a soft dough.
3 - On foured bpard roll dough to about 1/4" thickness; then, after brushing melted butterm over it
sprinkle it with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar (4 tsp cinnamon to nearly a cup of sugar) and with
8 tbsp seeded raisins.
4 - Roll dough up like a jelly roll, and cut into sections about 2 inches long.
5 - Either place in buttered tins (standing rolls on end, to let them bake in a hot oven 10 to 15 minutes
or use an iron frying pan spread with 4 tbsp brown sugar creamed with 4 tbsp butter, placing the rolls on
end and letting them bake 25 minutes in a hot oven. 6 - Take from the pan as soon as done, and serve, sugared side up.
