8 cps sliced pared Maine potatoes, 1/4 inch thick
2 cps thinly sliced peeled onions.
4 cps well-seasoned thin white sauce
2 tbsp butter or margerine
1 - Arrange alternate layers of potatoes, onions, white sauce, and butter
inn a greased 2 qt. covered casserole or baking dish, having potatoes as the top layer.
2 - Cover the casserole and bake in a moderately hot oven (400 degrees) for 30 minutes.
3 - Then remove the cover of the casserole and bake 45 minutes longer, or until the potatoes
are tender and a golden brown crust has formed on top.
Serves 6. To serve 2 or 3, make half this recipe.
