Cook 4 medium-sized Maine potatoes until they are two-thirds done.
Drain, cool slightly and cut in thinn slices. Place on a buttered
circular pie pan overlapping each other.
Sprinkle each layer with a little salt, pepper, and grated Swiss cheese.
Add 1 tbsp butter, melted just enough to pour.
Cover the top layer sith grated cheese and dot with bits of butter.
Bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes. Serve very hot.
