1 - Proceed as with Shrimp Gumbo (Okra Shrimp Gumbo), after you have scalded, cleaned, and
cut your crabs in half and cracked the large claws with the nut cracker.
2 - Caution must be taken in boiling crab gumbo. For some reason, the taste of crabs is
ruined by rapid boiling.
3 - Use the file' powder as in shreimp and chicken gumbo, and serve with large portion of boiled rice
to each soup plate.
4 - Some people add 3 or 4 whole cloves to the crab gumbo.
