Steak with Mushroom Gravy
Remove from steak (tenderloin or sirloin, 2 1/2 or 3 lbs), gristle and strings.
Season on both sides with salt and pepper, place in hotm deep fat frier with
just enough shortening to keep from sticking.; fry quickly on both sides.
Prepare one onion, sliced thin, 1 pod garlic, (1 bell pepper if available).
Remove steak from frying pan andn place on platter, then drop into same pan
the above onions and seasoning stirring constantly while frying.
When thoroughly brown, add 3 tbsp tomato catsup, tsp orcestershire sauce and
1 can mushrooms and a few sprigs parsley chopped fine.
Cook this gravy for about 3 minutes adding a small quantity of water, then pour
over the steaqk and serve hot.
