French Fried Onions
1/2 cp milk
1/2 cp flour
1 tsp melted shortening
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg yolk
1 - Cut large onions across into slices about one-fourth inch thick.
2 - Separate the slices into rings. Dip the rings into thin batter.
3 - Place in a frying basket and fry in shortening at 360 - 370 degrees F.
4 - Drain. Salt lightly before serving.
5 - If preferred onion slices can be simply dipped in milk and dredgeds with
flour instead of coated with batter.
