New Orleans Corn Pone
3 cps corn meal
1 1/2 cps boiling water
2 level tbsp lard
1 tsp salt
1 c[ milk
2 tsp baking powder
1 - Put meal, lard and salt in bowl, pour in boiling water, and stir until well mixed.
2 - Add milk and egg, set aside to cool fror an hour, then beat well, add bakingn powder
and pour into greased pans or muffin rings.
3 - Don't try to have more than 2 inches thick.
4 - Bake in hot oven for 40 minutes.
