Banana, Apple, or Orange Fritters
1 cp flour
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cp milk
2 tspm shortening, melted
prange sections seeded or sliced bananas or apples
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp sugar
1 - Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
2 - Combine egg, milk and shortewning, add to dry ingredients.
3 - Drop chopped fruit into batter and fry inn deep shortening (375 degrees F.)
for about 5 minutes or until brown.
4 - Sprinkle with sugar while still steaming.
