Virginia Corn Bread
1 cp corn meal
1 cp sifted flour
2 tbsp lard or butter
1 cp milk
2 level tbsp sugar
2 eggs, beaten separately
3 level tsp baking powder pinch salt
1 - Beat sugar with egg yolks, add corn meal, milk and flour, then melted lard or butter
then egg whites and baking powder and salt.
2 - Bake in greased tin pan in hot oven and cut into large squares.
