White Cake (Layer or Loaf)
1 cp egg whites
2 1/2 cps sugar
1 cp butter
1 cp milk
5 cps sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla or almond essence
1 - Proceed as with any other cake, cream butter and sugar together and stiffly beten egg whites alternately with flour
then baking powder, milk, vanilla or other extract.
2 - This cake is nice either as a layer or loaf, and is very good with filling for Favorite Lemon Pie.
3 - Yolks left over may be used in sponge or devil's food cake or custard ice cream.
