Caramel Cake Filling
1 cp sugar
1/3 cp milk
1 tbsp butter
1 - Set to boil 1 cp sugar, 1/3 cp milk and 1 tbsp butter
2 - Put anpther cp of sugar in hot iron skillet, and stir constantly until there are
no more lumps and the mixture has become a decided brown, then pour the first
mixture, whichhas boiled a minute or 2, into the skillet, remove from the fire, scrape
all that has stuck to the spoon into the skillet again, and stir and beat until it begins
to get a little thick.
3 - Flavor with vanilla and spread between the cake layers.
