Old-Fashioned Cream Pie
1 pint milk
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 cp sugar
a little salt, vanilla essence
1 - Beat egg yolks up with sugar, add milk, put in double boiler to cook,
when very hot, add cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp water.
2 - Have ready 2 cooked pans of pie-crust, beat whites of eggs well, adding
when stiff, sugar 1/2 cp--put the cream in pie-crust, spread meringue on top,
and in very slow oven about 20 minutes until meringue us brown.
3 - Serve cold.
