2 cps sugar
1 egg white
1 tsp vanilla or almond extract
1/2 cp walnut or pecan meats or both
1/2 cp corn syrup Karo (crystal)
1/2 cp water
1 - Cook sugar, syrup and water stirring occasionally, until it forms a thread when dropped from a spoon.
2 - Add syrup to the stiffly beaten egg white pouring slowly and beating constantly.
3 - When it begins to thicken add chopped nuts, spread on buttered dish and cut into squares when set.
4 - Chopped cherries, and pineapple are also delicious when added to the nuts.
