2 cps flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cp shortening
1/3 cp cold water
1 - Sift the flour and salt together, cut in the shortening and mix with the hands.
2 - Add water.
3 - Roll out about 1/8 inch thick on a floured board.
4 - Cut with a large cookie cutter abour 4 inches in diameter.
5 - In each round, place 1 1.2 tbsp sweetened mashed fruit (dried apricots, peaches, prunes or thick apple sauce).
6 - Moisten edges with cold water, fold to make semicircle and press edges together with a fork.
7 - Fry in deep fat.
