Apple Dumplings II (Eb'l Dumpling)
2 cps flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp shortening
1/2 cp cold milk
6 apples, pared and cored
1 - Fill cored apple with sugar and cinnamon.
2 - Sift flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening, add milk and mix to smooth dough.
3 - Turn onto floured board and divide into six portions.
4 - Roll each portion large enough to cover 1 apple.
5 - Place an apple on each piece of dough; fill with cinnamon and sugar; wet edges of dough and fold over apple.
6 - Place on greased baking sheet, and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F.) until apples are tender (about 4o minutes.).
