Brown Betty Pudding
4 cps sliced apples
2 cps bread, cut in cubes
3/4 cp brown sugar
2 tsp butter
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 - Slice the pared apples very fine.
2 - Brush a pudding pan with butter, place a layer of apples on the bottom, then place a layer of bread cubes and half of the sugar.
3 - Add another layer of apples, the rest of the bread and the remaining apples.
4 - Cover with the rest of the sugar, sprinkle with cinnamon, add 1/4 cp hot water, cover the p[an and bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F.)
for 30 minutes or more.
5 - Remove cover and brown.
6 - Serve with a hard or lemon sauce.
