Pickled Eggs and Red Beets
1/4 cp brown sugar
1/2 cp vinegar
1/2 cp cold water
small piece of cinnamon
3 or 4 cloves
hard cooked eggs
1 - Boil young beets until tender.
2 - Skin and cover with the following liquid: brown sugar, vinegar, cold water, cinnamon, and cloves.
3 - Boil the liquid ingredients together for 10 minutes.
4 - Let beets stand in this liquid for several days.
5 - Remove and add whole hard cooked eggs to the liquid and let pickle for 2 days before using.
