Cocoa Syrup

    Source: Health for Victory Booklet (WWII vintage) 6 tbsp cocoa
    1/2 cp hot water
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 1/2 cps corn syrup OR 8 tbsp sugar

    Instructions
    1 - Pour hot water over cocoa and stir until smooth.
    2 - Add corn syrup or sugar, and salt.
    3 - Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
    4 - Add vanilla.
    5 - Serve hot or cold over ice cream, cottage pudding or cake. 6 - Can be stored over long period if refrigerated.
