1 3/4 cps boiling water
1 cp light corn syrup
1 tbsp salt
2 tsp shortening
1/2 cp lukewarm water
2 eggs, beaten
8 cps enriched all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring
2 cakes quick acting yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 - Mix the boiling water, light corn syrup, salt and shortening together.
2 - Cool the mixture until lukewarm.
3 - Soften the yeast in lukewarm water.
4 - Add 1 tsp sugar, then stir into the first mixture.
5 - Add beaten eggs and stir in 4 cps of flour, then beat thoroughly.
6 - Add 4 more cps of flour and stir thoroughly, but it is not necessary to knead.
7 - Brush the top of the dough with melted butter, margarine or shortening.
8 - Cover tightly and store in the refrigerator until ready for use.
9 - Shape as described for Clover Leaf Rolls and put in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
10 - Bake 15-20 minutes in preheated 425 degree oven.
11 - Two cps of graham or whole wheat flour may be substituted for white flour.
