2 cp sifted enriched all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 cps quick-cooking rolled oats
1 cp raisins
1 cp chopped nut meats
1/2 cp shortening
1 cp brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/3 cp milk
1 cp grated raw carrot
1 - Sift flour, measure, add baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices.
2 - Sift again then add rolled oats, raisins and nut meats, then mix well.
3 - Cream shortening, add sugar, creaming thoroughly.
4 - Add eggs, milk, and beat again, then add carrots and mix well.
5 - Add dry ingredients and stir until everything is mixed well.
6 - Dtop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
7 - Flatten out with a floured fork, then bake for 15 minutes in a
preheated 350 degree oven. Do not store until cold.
