Half-and-half Fried Mush

    3 cps boiling water
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 cp corn meal
    1/2 cp soybean grits

    Instructions

    1 - Add salt to boiling water then slowly add corn meal and soybean grits.
    2 - Stir constantly while adding the cereal to avoid lumping.
    3 - Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
    4 - Pour into a loaf pan which has been rinsed in cold water.
    5 - Cover with wax paper.
    6 - When cold, unmold, cut into 1/2" slices and fry in very hot fat until golden.
