Baked Cereal Custard

    2/3 cp evaporated milk
    1/3 cp water
    2/3 cp cooked cracked wheat
    1 tbsp butter or fortified margerine
    1 slightly beaten egg
    1/3 cp light corn syrup
    1/8 tsp salt
    3/4 tsp vanilla


    1 - Heat milk, water, cracked wheat, and butter or margerine
    on low heat or in a double boiler. 2 - Stir slowly into the beaten egg.
    3 - Add the corn syrup, salt and vanilla.
    4 - Pour into greased custard cups.
    5 - Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 45 minutes or until
    a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
