Economy Ice Cream

    Source: Health for Victory Club (WWII vintage)

    2 cps. top milk
    2 tsp unflavored gelatin
    6 tbsp sugar
    2 tbsp soya flour may be added
    4 tsps white corn syrup
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 eggs


    1 - Soak gelatin in 2 tbsp of top milk.
    2 - Beat egg yolks, soya flour, if used, sugar and corn syrup
    until thisk and lemon colored.
    3 - To this add the top milk with dissolved gelatin and vanilla.
    4 - Place on bottom shelf of refrigerator freezer.
    5 - Set freezer to coldest setting and freeze until firm.
    6 - Remove to a chilled bowl, add unbeaten egg whites and beat
    until fluffy.
    7 - Return to freezing compartment and leave until firm.
