Cod Baked with Cheese

    2 pkgs fillet of cod
    1 tbsp chopped onion
    4 tbsp butter or fortified margerine
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1 1/2 cps fine bread crumbs
    1/4 cp grated cheese
    1/2 cp milk

    Instructions

    1 - Sprinkle fillets(frozen or thawed) with 1/4 tsp salt & 1/8 tsp pepper.
    2 - Place in a greased shallow baking dish
    3 - Saute' onion in butter or margerine until delicately browned
    4 - Add rest of seasonings, bread crumbs and cheese.
    5 - Toss lightly with a fork to mix well.
    6 - Spread over the fish, pressing firmly on the fish.
    7 - Pour milk around fish and bake 45 minutes in preheated 350 degree oven.
