Upside-Down Bread Pudding
2 cps milk
5 slices stale(not hard) enriched bread
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 beaten eggs
1/4 cp jam, marmalade, or preserves
1 - Scald milk and pour over bread.
2 - Add salt, sugar and vanilla and let stand for 5 minutes.
3 - Beat until bread is broken into small pieces.
4 - Add beaten eggs.
5 - Grease a 1 qt casserole and spread jam all over the bottom.
6 - Pour bread mixture over the jam.
7 - Set in a pan of hot water and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until firm.
8 - Remove pudding from pan of water and cool.
9 - Loosen around edge of casserole and turn upside down on a plate.
