Peppers Stuffed with Leftover Meat
6 green peppers
2 tbsp bacon drippings
2 tbsp chopped onions
2 cps leftover meat, ground
2 cps soft breadcrumbs
1 cp tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 cp dried bread crumbs, buttered
1 - Wash peppers, cut slices from stem end and remove seeds.
2 - Steam 10 minutes in deep well cooker.
3 - Brown onions in shortening.
4 - Mix well with other ingredients except buttered crumbs.
5 - Stand the peppers in a casserole or loaf pan.
6 - Add hot water to a depth or 1/2".
7 - Bake 35 minutes in preheated 375 degree oven
