Hot Salad Dressing
1 tbsp. Drippings or shortening
1 tsp. All-purpose enriched flour
2 tsp. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Dry mustard
1/8 tsp. Pepper
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 cp. Vinegar
Yolk of 1 egg
1 - Melt the shortening and blend in the flour.
2 - Add the vinegar and stir until mixture thickens.
3 - Mix together the sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper and add to the liquid.
4 - Cook for 4 minutes.
5 - Pour over the beaten egg yolk and mix well.
6 - Return to heat and cook 1 minute longer.
