Southern Tomato Cream Soup
4 tbsp butter or fortified margerine
5 tbsp minced green pepper
2 cps strained tomato juice
1 1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 tbsp enriched all-purpose flour
2 cps scalded milk
1 - Melt 2 tbsp butter or m argerine.
2 - Add green pepper and saute' for 5 ,imutes.
3 - Add tomato juice and seasonings.
4 - Bring to a boil.
5 - Thicken with 2 tbsp butter or magerine and flour blended together.
6 - Add milk
Serve with a sprinkling of browned buttered bread crumbs.
