Noodles with Leftover Chicken Gravy
2 cps uncooked noodles
boiling salted water
1 cp leftover gravy
2 cps stock (made by simmering chicken bones)
2 tbsp chicken fat or shortening
2 tbsp enriched all-purpose flour
salt and pepper
1 cp diced buttered bread cubes
1 - Cook noodles in boiling salted water for 8 minutes.
2 - Drain and rinse.
3 - Make a sauce by melting chicken fat and blending in the flour.
4 - Add gravy and chicken stock.
5 - Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
6 - Season well with salt and pepper.
7 - Add noodles and pour into a greased casserole.
8 - Top with buttered bread cubes, bake for 25 minutes
in preheated 350 degree oven.
Note: Any small bits of chicken may be added to the gravy.
