Dried Beef Gravy
1/2 lb dried beef
1 qt milk
4 tbsp drippings
6 tbsp all-purpose enriched flour, or more if gravy is desired very thick.
1 - Place drippings in skillet and heat.
2 - Add flour, and stir with drippings, until all particles of flour are brown.
3 - Next add dried beef which has been shredded.
4 - Allow the dried beef to become brown and well coated with the flour mixture.
5 - If using an electric range turn to medium heat when dried beef is added.
6 - For all other ranges, lower heat.
7 - Add milk, stirring as needed to prevent lumping.
