Fruit Brown Bread
3/4 cp sifted all-purpose enriched flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cps whole wheat flour
3/4 cp ground, dried, uncooked prunes or raisins
2 tbsp shortening, melted
1/2 cp baking molasses
1 1/2 cps buttermilk
1 - Sift the flour, soda, and salt and stir in whole wheat flour
and prunes or raisins.
2 - Mix melted shortening with the molasses and add buttermilk.
3 - Pour into the dry ingredients and mix just enough to moisten.
4 - Pour into a well greased loaf pan
5 - Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 1 hour
