Oatmeal Refrigerator Rolls
1/2 cp shortening
3 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cp boiling water
1 cp rolled oats
1 cake yeast
1/2 cp lukewarm water
1 egg, beaten
2 3/4 cps sifted all-purpose enriched flour
1 - Add boiling water to sugar, salt,, shortening and rolled oats.
2 - Stir well, cool to lukewarm, soften then yeast in the lukewarm water.
3 - Add with the beaten egg to oatmeal mixture.
4 - Stir in half the flour, beat well and add the rest of the flour.
5 - Place in a greased bowl, cover with waxed paper and store in refrigerator.
6 - When neede, form into cloverleaf rolls in muffin pans.
7 - Cover and let rise in a warm place until almost double.
8 - Bake for 12-15 minutes in preheated 425 degree oven.
