1/4 cp butter or fortified margerine.
1/4 cp shortening
1/2 cp sugar
1/2 cp molasses
2 cps cake flour
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp soda dissolved in 1/2 cp hot water
1 - Cream the butter or margerine and shortening.
2 - Add sugar and mix well.
3 - Sift flour, spices and salt and add alternatively with hot water and soda mixture.
4 - Line bottom of a greased cake pan with waxed paper, grease paper and pour in batter
5 - Bake in 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes.
6 - Batter will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
