1 cp molasses
1/2 cp shortening
3 1/4 cps sifted all-purpose enriched flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 tbsp ginger Instructions
1 - Heat molasses slowly to boiling point.
2 - Put shortening into large bowl, pour hot molasses over it,
stirring until melted.
3 - Sift flour, salt, soda and ginger and mix thororughly.
4 - Form in rolls on slightly floured waxed paper and chill.
5 - Slice very thin. Bake on greased sheet in preheated 425 degree oven for 8-10 minutes.
6 - This recipe keeps indefinitely in refrigerator and can be baked as needed.
Makes 10-12 dozen cookies.
