Buttermilk Sponge Custard
2/3 cp sugar
1 tbsp all-purpose enriched flour.
1 tbsp lemon juice
grated rind of 1 lemon
2 eggs, separated
1 tbsp butter or fortified margerine.
1/8 tsp salt
1 cp buttermilk
1 - Combine sugar, flour, lemon juice, rind, beaten eggs, butter or margerine
salt,m and buttermilk.
2 - Beat whites stiff and fold into tyhe mixture
3 - Pour into greased custard cups, set in a pan of water.
4 - Bakem 45 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.
5 - When cold these may be inverted on a plate, having a cake base and custard top.
