2 cps canned or cooked tomatoes
2 cps soft bread crumbs
1 tsp grated onion
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
4 tbsp butter or fortified margerine
3/4 cp tomato juice off tomatoes
1 - Drain tomatoes and reserve 3/4 cp of juice.
2 - Brown bread crumbs in butter or margerine.
3 - Place half the crumbs in bottom of greased 3 qt casserole.
4 - Mix the tomatoes, onion, salt, and sugar, and place over bread crumbs.
5 - Pour juice over tomatoes. Sprinkle the remaining bread crumbs over the top.
6 - Bake, uncovered in preheated 375 degree oven for 20 minutes.
